Going Bump / Ruidos en la noche

It is midnight and in the basement of Owl Creek Manse things are going bump.

Es medianoche y en el sótano de la casa parroquial de los búhos se oyen ruidos en la noche.

Go see what´s making that noise,Ty. It gives me the creeps.

Ve a ver qué está haciendo ese ruido,Tay. Me pone los pelos de punta. 

Ty / Tay  

 

Who cares what´s making that noise? We´ve heard it before and it hasn´t affected us. Live and let live.

¿A quién le importa lo que esté haciendo ese ruido? Lo hemos escuchado antes y no nos ha afectado. Vive y deja vivir.

Felina

I don´t think it lives. I think it´s ghosts.

Yo no creo que viva. Creo que son fantasmas.

 

Ty / Tay

All the more reason not to go see. I´m not telling a ghost to shut up. The last thing I need is to get into a fight with a ghost. They can be very annoying.

Razón de más para no ir a ver. No pienso decirle a un fantasma que se calle. Lo último que necesito es pelearme con un fantasma. Pueden ser muy molestos.

It’s annoying already. Make it stop, Ty. You´re the man. You have to go.

Ya está siendo molesto. Haz que pare, Tay. Tú eres el hombre. Tienes que ir tú.

Ty / Tay

Nonsense. You aren´t scared of going out at midnight to feed the forest cats in their habitat. You even take a ball to play with them out there in the moonlight. You know how dangerous that can be. 

Tonterías. No te da miedo salir a medianoche para alimentar a los gatos del bosque en su hábitat. Hasta te llevas una pelota para jugar con ellos a la luz de la luna. Y tú sabes lo peligroso que  puede ser eso.

But I make you fetch the ball if it falls too far off.

Pero hago que tú vayas a por la pelota si cae demasiado lejos.

 

Ty / Tay

 

That´s because you´re lazy, not scared. Look, that noise is probably Uncle Lonefellow, come back to haunt me for selling the house. The last thing I need is to have a row with him right now.

Eso es porque eres una vaga, no porque estés asustada. Mira, ese ruido probablemente lo esté haciendo Tío Solitario, que ha vuelto de entre los muertos para echarme la bronca por haber vendido la casa. Lo último que necesito es discutir con él ahora.

You really think it´s him? I wouldn´t mind if it is. He was always a gentleman around me. He would go see what the noise was about.

¿De veras crees que es él? No me importaría que lo fuese. Siempre fue un caballero conmigo. Él sí que iría a ver que está haciendo ese ruido.

A sudden noise that came from one of the basement windows froze Felina and added excitement to the situation.

Un ruido repentino que venía de una de las ventanas del sótano dejó helada a Felina y añadió emoción a la situación.

Achooooo!

Look at me, Ty! I´m starting to cry!

¡Mírame, Tay!  ¡Estoy empezando a llorar!

Oh, please! Ok, I´ll sit up if I can get hold of my glasses and see if I can see anything from here. But just because it´s the window in front of me.  I can see…a kid´s head.

¡Ay, por favor! Vale, me sentaré y veré si consigo ponerme las gafas y veo algo desde aquí. Pero sólo porque se trata de la ventana que tengo delante. Veo…la cabeza de un crío.

No, please! Please don´t be scared. I need to talk to you guys. I know it´s very late, but you are never awake in the daylight. Achoo! Excuse me, I have an allergy to spring and it´s very bad this year.

¡No, por favor! ¡Por favor, no os asustéis! Necesito hablar con vosotros. Sé que es muy tarde, pero nunca estáis despiertos de día. ¡Achís! Perdón. Tengo alergia a la primavera y este año estoy fatal.

It´s that fairy kid who´s a friend of Alpin´s. Do come in, if it´s just you and you are who I think you are.

Es ese niño hada que es amigo de Alpin. Pasa, si eres sólo tú y eres quién creo que eres.

I want to ask you if you have a magic pencil like one my baby sister has. The forest cats say you do.

Quiero preguntarte si tienes un lápiz mágico como uno que tiene mi hermanita. Los gatos del bosque dicen que sí.

As a matter of fact, I do. Look, I´ll give it to you no questions asked if you do me a favor. I don´t want to get up off this couch. Could you look around the house and see if you can make out what´s making a weird noise we´ve been hearing lately?

Pues la verdad es que sí, lo tengo. Mira, te lo daré sin hacerte preguntas si me haces un favor. Es que no quiero levantarme de este sofá. ¿Podrías echar un vistazo por la casa para ver que está haciendo un ruido raro que hemos estado oyendo?
