Review: Present Simple and Present Continuous / Repaso del presente simple y del presente continuo

Y me digo a mi mismo...

A estas alturas ya te lo sabes. Pero… Hay cosas que hay que recordar para no meter la pata con el Presente Simple:


- No olvidar la “s” de la tercera persona singular. John plays tennis.

- Las negativas son con los auxiliares don’t / doesn’t. We don’t eat sweets.

- Las Yes/No questions se forman así:

Do......................... you ,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,play........................... tennis?

Verbo Auxiliar      Sujeto           Verbo principal          Resto

Does...................... she ................play............................ golf ?

- Las preguntas con question words se forman así:

Where..................... does..................... Sam......... play.................... tennis?

Esta fórmula es la misma que las de las preguntas sí /no, pero se coloca al principio del todo una “palabra pregunta.”

Si se va a preguntar por el sujeto, la formula es distinta:

¿Están bien escritas estas oraciones?

¿Si ya te lo sabes, por qué metes la pata? Cosas que hay que recordar para no equivocarse con el Presente Continuo:

No olvidarse de que el presente continuo lleva siempre dos verbos, el primero es be en la persona oportuna y el segundo va con -ing. We are dancing.

Los auxiliares de la negativa son: am not / aren’t / isn’t. He isn’t dancing.

Las Yes/No questions se hacen así:

Are........................... you.............. working.................... in this office now?

Las preguntas con question words se hacen así:

When...................... is ...........................Peter...... coming................... home?

Usos


Present Simple
Hábito, rutina. She plays tennis every day.
Verdad general, hecho científico. It rains here in Autumn.
Verbos estáticos. This flower smells sweet.

Present Continuous
Accíon que ocurre ahora. I am having a shower right now.
Acción temporal. We are learning to fish at camp.
Plan definitive para el futuro. I´m having dinner with Bill tonight.
